In 1994, I was still running my multi-line FreeBSD based BBS, "Loreli" (yes, that's my daughter's name, too.  I just like the name).  All of the software on the BBS, the menus, the teleconference, the email, and the newsreader, were written in perl by me and Rocco Caputo (troc).  1994 also saw me finally forced to get a real job, the first since Jeff Jones and I left Hi-Tech Expressions to start Codesmiths, Inc.
