What does Cammy do?

Cammy displays EXIF-based camera model, lens name, shutter speed, aperture, iso, focal length and EV in a very small tray that is easy to integrate with the rest of Bibble's tools -- see screenshot. Cammy does not modify your image in any way -- it is instrumentation only.

Cammy - Overview

User Interface

Cammy has no user controls such as buttons or sliders; it does not alter your image. It has seven read-only text boxes that display the following information (you choose which layout you like).

The following data is displayed:

  • Camera Model: The name of the camera. This is helpful to know when making adjustments on the image.
  • Lens Name: The text name of the lens, if known. This is convenient to know when describing the image to others.
  • Shutter Speed: The exposure duration in seconds, formatted as either 1/n (if less than 1/4 second) or n.nns.
  • Aperture: The F number of the exposure, in the form Fn.n.
  • ISO Equivalent: The ISO equivalent of the exposure as a bare number such as 100 or 1600.
  • Focal Length: The actual (not 35mm equivalent) lens focal length in millimetres formatted as nmm.
  • Exposure Value: The exposure value calculated to the nearest 1/4, displayed as n.nn.

Notes

Any values not reported by the input file will be omitted from the display, or show an "unknown" indicator. If you forget what a given box displays, hover your mouse over it for a "tooltip".

Cammy isn't very pretty, but it does pack a lot of information into a very small space. It might be nice to add one more line of data, but I'm not sure what I'd want to put on it that was valuable enough to warrant the loss of screen real estate -- remember that you can view the full EXIF data anytime with Shift-F10.
